Segmind Release Notes (September 28–October 4, 2026)
Segmind updates for September 28 to October 4, 2026: Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Flash-Lite TTS, Ideogram 4.5 generate and edit, a ModelArk artifact verification endpoint, Seedance 2.5 draft-to-1080p hand-off, a redesigned homepage and models page, richer model pages, and Pixelflow LLM node improvements.
1. New Models — Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Flash-Lite TTS
- What's new: Gemini 3.8 Flash TTS and Flash-Lite TTS are live on the API. Both return WAV audio directly and accept multi-speaker input with per-turn style direction, so a single request can voice a whole conversation with a different voice and delivery for each speaker. Pricing is token-based and listed on each model's page.
- Impact: Produce multi-voice dialogue, narration and podcasts-style audio in one call, with a lighter Flash-Lite option when speed and cost matter most.
- Released: September 30, 2026
2. New Models — Ideogram 4.5
- What's new: Ideogram 4.5 is now available as
ideogram-4.5for text-to-image generation andideogram-4.5-editfor precise edits to an existing image. Both are on the API and selectable in the playground. - Impact: Generate images with strong in-image typography, and make targeted changes to an existing picture without regenerating it from scratch.
- Released: October 1, 2026
3. Model Artifact Verification Endpoint
- What's new: A new
modelark-artifact-verificationmodel lets you submit an image or video and find out whether it was generated by a BytePlus ModelArk model such as Seedance or Seedream. It appears in the new video-to-text category alongside image-to-text models, with filters and playground samples to match. - Impact: Check the provenance of AI-generated media directly through the Segmind API.
- Released: September 30, 2026
4. Seedance 2.5 — Easier Draft-to-Final Hand-off
- What's new: Draft results in the playground History now show a Render final in 1080p link for 7 days after the draft, and the draft task id is a copyable row in the generation info sheet and the console Generations detail. The request-history API now returns
draft_task_idfor completed Seedance 2.5 draft requests. - Impact: Find any recent draft and promote it to a full 1080p render in one click, or look up its id programmatically — no need to keep the id yourself.
- Released: September 30, 2026
5. Homepage and Models Page Refresh
- What's new: The segmind.com homepage has a new model bookshelf under the hero: the 100 newest models as book-cover cards with Latest, Popular and modality filters. A new real-world use cases section (Catalog, Adapt, Localize, Storyboard, Personalize) shows live customer flows, and the mobile layout is cleaner with finished output cards and a swipe-to-open model shelf. The models page banner highlights the newest frontier models, banner titles no longer clip descenders, and the cookie banner is now a compact card with equally prominent Accept and Reject options. The Cookie Policy now displays with proper headings and bullets.
- Impact: Discover new models faster, see how Segmind workflows apply to real jobs, and manage cookie consent with less friction.
- Released: October 1–5, 2026
6. Model Pages — Richer Context and Better Discovery
- What's new: Each model's FAQ now has its own tab, with all tabs available in the page's server-rendered content. The
llms.txtfor each model now includes About, Usage, Prompting, FAQ and Examples, so AI assistants that open a model page (such as Open in ChatGPT or Claude, or MCP clients) get fuller context. The Related Models rail now ranks by usage and recency, and gains a Most popular sort. - Impact: Find the right model faster, and get more accurate help from AI assistants when working with a model.
- Released: September 29–October 1, 2026
7. Pixelflow — LLM Node and Editor Improvements
- What's new: A new visual field builder lets you compose an LLM node's structured output without hand-writing JSON, and the Response format is editable again and validated against the selected model. An LLM node now stops with a clear error when its reply doesn't match the declared format, and plain-edge hints no longer conflict with a node's own JSON format. Videos show their first frame instead of a black box before playback, nodes for models with no listed parameters render correctly, and the Ask Pixi panel on a prompt field closes when you click outside it. Team admins can now rename a team, and the workspace switcher scrolls when you have many workspaces.
- Impact: Build reliable structured-output flows more easily, preview video results at a glance, and manage team workspaces with less friction.
- Released: October 2–3, 2026
8. Platform Improvements
- What's new: The asset library now accepts AVIF images. The playground keeps the newest generation on the canvas when an older run finishes late. Exporting generations to CSV or Excel no longer stalls on requests with long prompts. API keys created through an authorized third-party app are now tied to that app, so disconnecting the app also revokes the keys it created.
- Impact: More upload formats, a steadier playground, dependable exports, and tighter control over what connected apps can leave behind.
- Released: September 29–October 3, 2026
