Spend limits
How Segmind's spend tiers work: daily spend and auto-recharge limits for new accounts, how your limit grows automatically, and what happens when you reach it.
Every account has a spend tier: a daily spend limit and a limit on how much auto-recharge can charge your card. Tiers protect you. If a card is stolen or an API key leaks, the damage is capped at a few dollars instead of your whole card limit.
Who limits apply to today. Spend limits are enforced only for accounts that don't yet have a payment at least 7 days old. Once your first payment is 7 days old, your account isn't held to these limits.
Tiers
| Tier | Daily spend | Per auto-recharge | Auto-recharge per 24 hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 0 | $50 | $100 | $100 |
| Tier 1 | $250 | $250 | $750 |
| Tier 2 | $1,000 | $1,000 | $6,000 |
| Tier 3 | $5,000 | $5,000 | $60,000 |
| Tier 4 | No limit | No limit | No limit |
On top of your tier:
- Money you paid is always spendable. Your daily limit is never lower than what you paid successfully in the last 7 days. Buy $300 of credits on day one and you can spend all $300 that day, whatever your tier.
- Recharges you already make stay allowed. Your per-recharge limit is never lower than your largest payment in the last 7 days.
- The daily limit resets at 00:00 UTC.
Moving up a tier
You don't need to ask. Each step below takes effect as soon as it's true:
| To reach | Any one of |
|---|---|
| Tier 1 | A payment that is 7 days old · A verified email plus one card payment of $10 or more confirmed by your bank (3D Secure) |
| Tier 2 | A verified email plus $100 in total of 3D Secure card payments · $250 paid, with your first payment at least 30 days old |
| Tier 3 | A verified email plus $500 in total of 3D Secure card payments · $1,000 paid, with your first payment at least 60 days old |
| Tier 4 | The Business or Scale plan, paid with 3D Secure or by an account with a 7-day-old payment · An approved higher-limit request |
3D Secure is the "confirm with your bank" step some card payments show at checkout. Payments confirmed this way count toward Tier 2 and Tier 3 only if the account has never had a disputed payment.
To ask for more than Tier 3, open Billing and choose Request a higher limit. Requests up to $10,000 a day from accounts that are on Tier 3, at least 30 days old and have never had a disputed payment are approved on the spot, for 90 days. Other requests go to our team.
You can see your tier, your limits and the next step at any time in the Limits card on the Billing page.
When you reach a limit
API and PixelFlow requests return HTTP 406 until the daily limit resets:
{
"error": "Daily budget reached: $50.00 of $50.00 used. Raise or remove it at https://platform.segmind.com/budgets."
}If you haven't set a budget yourself, the limit in this message is your tier's. Moving up a tier raises it.
Auto-recharge. A recharge that would go over your tier's limits isn't charged. Auto-recharge is paused, and we email you with the reason. Resume it from Billing once the cause is gone, or lower the recharge amount.
Teams
A team's usage counts against its billing admin's tier, so the whole team shares one daily limit. The team spending caps and member budgets that admins set in Teams still apply on top. The lower limit wins.
Your own budgets
Budgets you set yourself work alongside your tier. Whichever limit is lower applies. Lowering your own budget never changes your tier.
Disputes
If a payment on your account is disputed or reversed, the account goes back to Tier 0 and auto-recharge pauses until the dispute is resolved.
