1. Seedream 5.0 Pro — New Image Model

What's new: Seedream 5.0 Pro (seedream-5-pro) is now live — ByteDance's flagship image model. It supports text-to-image as well as single- and multi-reference image-to-image with up to 10 reference images, at 1K and 2K output tiers.
Impact: Generate high-quality images from a prompt, or guide generation with up to 10 reference images, choosing 1K or 2K output — all from one model code.

What's new: Five new VEED video models are now available: veed-fabric-1.0 (video generation), veed-lipsync, veed-avatars, veed-video-background-removal, and veed-subtitles.
Impact: Add lip-sync, AI avatars, automatic video background removal, subtitle generation, and VEED's Fabric video model to your workflows — all through the API.

What's new: A new model, heygen-generate-look, is now live. From a text prompt, it changes a photo avatar's outfit, environment, or pose to produce a new look of the same identity — using either a pre-trained avatar group or a single face image. Its output can feed the heygen-avatar-iv and heygen-avatar-v models to create talking video.
Impact: Restyle a consistent avatar — new outfits, settings, or poses — from a simple text prompt, then bring the result to life as talking video.

What's new: A new /v2/timeline endpoint provides a multi-track video compositor — combine video, text, overlay, and audio tracks with transitions, per-clip audio ducking, and automatic loudness normalization in a single request. A companion /v2/video-split endpoint splits one video into multiple segments.
Impact: Assemble multi-track video edits — layering clips, text, overlays, and mixed audio — in a single API call, and split videos programmatically, without stitching together separate tools.

What's new: Several models gained new controls this week. nano-banana-pro, nano-banana-2, and nano-banana-2-lite now accept an optional system_prompt input; grok-imagine-video now accepts up to 7 reference images (up from 3); and Seedance 2.0, 2.0-fast, and 2.0-mini added an optional bitrate_mode (standard or high) for encoding-quality control. Separately, the heygen-avatar-v endpoint now returns a clear, structured response including a consent URL when a real-face avatar requires one-time on-camera consent — so you can verify and retry instead of hitting an opaque error.
Impact: More control over your generations — system prompts for nano-banana, more references for Grok Imagine, and encoding-quality control for Seedance — plus a clearer path when a HeyGen avatar needs consent verification.

What's new: Signing in, signing out, and creating API keys now work reliably across the platform. In the playground, pasted video and audio URLs now preview correctly, JSON outputs render properly, and downloaded images keep their original file format. And subscription renewals that are fully covered by a discount coupon or account credit balance now correctly apply the monthly credit grant.
Impact: A smoother sign-in and API-key experience, more dependable playground previews and downloads, and reliable monthly credits even when your renewal is fully discounted.
